Keiki is Hawaiian for “child”. Farm to Keiki = Farm to Child. While our roots are in the farm to table movement (when we first started this organization), Farm to Keiki is much more than bringing farm produce to children, or children to a farm.
Farm to Keiki is about growing new generation of healthy, and caring stewards of the Earth. It’s about adopting a culture where children are fed healthy, locally grown foods. A culture where nutrition, environmental education and gardening is part of their daily academics. A culture where they learn to love farm fresh meals because they have cooked them themselves.
We are growing this culture by empowering people just like you! Our families, teachers and childcare providers are powerful allies in carrying the Farm to Keiki mission to all of our children. That’s why I’ve created this site and resources just for you 🙂
The Farm to Keiki method transforms schools and homes to become havens for health and sustainability. Children will only learn healthy habits and to care for the Earth if they are practicing them every day. Our book, courses and website support teachers and parents to incorporate this method. Our method is built upon these pillars.
